International Drilling Schools (IDS) is a Drilling training company which specializes in designing and presenting Drilling related training programs to the Oil and Gas Industry world-wide.

IDS was established in 1982 and is based in Dallas, Texas, USA. It is the company name used by Norman Archibald a twenty year veteran of the Drilling training business.

Mr. Archibald has concentrated his efforts on developing in-house training programs for his many clients throughout the world, capitalizing on his ability to tailor-make the sessions to their individual needs. Since 1982 he has consulted world-wide to Mobil Oil Corporation Technical Training Department in his specialization of Well Control training. Also, for the past ten years, he has consulted internationally in the same specialist area, to Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) Oil and Gas Company Drilling Department.

Norman has spent a life-time in the Drilling training arena learning the unique well control conditions in each part of the world, and he is highly respected by his peers in this business. This has contributed signifigantly to IDS being recognized as a leader in it's field.

He has a unique combination of skills for this profession, with a background in Petroleum Engineering Operations, Training Management and Education.
